Job summary

Knowesis Inc. is seeking a Data Scientist to support the Pandemic Response Accountability Committee (PRAC). This remote role involves building fraud detection models, profiling data, and deploying dashboards using Power BI. Occasional visits to PRAC locations may be required.

Candidates must obtain and maintain a Public Trust, be a U.S. citizen, and have 3+ years of ML experience with Python and SQL. A BS in a related field is required, with experience in entity resolution or anomaly detection

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience applying statistics or machine learning to real-world data.
• Strong Python and SQL skills and experience with standard machine learning libraries.
• Experience with at least one of: entity resolution, anomaly detection, or classification models.
• Clear writing and the ability to explain results to people who are not data scientists.
• Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field, or equal experience.
• Ability to obtain and keep a Public Trust.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, validate, and deploy fraud detection rules and models, including data matching, entity resolution, anomaly detection, risk scoring, natural language processing, and machine learning.
• Profile data, find gaps, and run exploratory analysis before modeling.
• Maintain and recalibrate models already in production.
• Build Microsoft Power BI charts and dashboards that explain results.
• Check rule and model results with investigators to confirm they hold up.
• Document methods, commented code, findings, and data issues so work passes quality review.
• Take part in two-week sprints and use only AI tools the PRAC has approved.
