Job summary

Peraton is seeking an experienced Data Scientist / Developer to join our Federal Strategic Cyber program. This role supports a remote-first model with on-site as needed and involves designing ETL pipelines, Python-based data transforms, and containerized deployments across CI/CD lifecycles.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of related tech experience (or 6+ with a Master’s, 3+ with a PhD), strong scripting skills, and deep containerization expertise (Docker, Podman, OpenShift, Kubernetes). U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years in relevant tech; 6+ years with a Master's; 3+ years with a PhD.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (Bash, Python, etc.).
• Strong understanding of containerization (Docker, Podman).
• Ability to work independently and in teams; experience interfacing with clients and technical staff.
• U.S. Citizenship is required; ability to obtain TS clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DHS background investigation for employment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines using industry best practices.
• Create transform scripts in Python to convert data to standard schemas.
• Implement and manage containerization using OpenShift/Kubernetes.
• Integrate CI/CD pipelines into the software development lifecycle.
• Monitor, optimize, and secure system performance and availability.
• Automate deployment processes across infra and apps.
• Troubleshoot issues in dev, test, and prod environments.
