Governor's Office of Information Technology (OIT) in Colorado seeks a Data Scientist to drive analytics for the Statewide Longitudinal Data System (COdata). You will use Snowflake, Python, SQL, R and Tableau to analyze, visualize, and report on education and workforce data, informing policy and business decisions.

You will collaborate with Data Architects, Engineers, and stakeholders to deliver dashboards, automated reports, and actionable insights while upholding data privacy and governance

Formación

• Five (5) years working experience as a Data Analyst in the public sector of education or workforce development, with significant expertise in Snowflake, Python, SQL, R, and Tableau.
• Three (3) years of experience developing dashboards using data reporting tools (Tableau preferred, Power BI, R Shiny or PyShiny).
• Deep understanding of applied research methods, specifically program evaluation and quantitative data analysis of longitudinal public sector data.
• At least five (5) years experience working with education and/or workforce data.
• Experience in descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive data analysis in the public sector.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, database management, SQL, and ETL in the public sector.

Responsabilidades

• Design education‑to‑career research questions and quantitative methods to inform policy and practice.
• Conduct quantitative research on administrative data sets.
• Write research reports, briefs, infographics and slides to convey results.
• Design, maintain and optimize visualization dashboards in Tableau.
• Combine data from multiple sources to produce meaningful metrics.
• Identify data patterns and communicate insights as recommended actions to audiences.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Tableau and data from Snowflake and related repositories.
• Communicate complex data insights to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Ensure data quality and governance in Snowflake.
