Job summary

Airbnb is seeking a Data Scientist for Causal Inference in Community Support. You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers and operations to enable personalized, fair, high-quality host/guest experiences using advanced causal inference analyses.

The role involves designing experiments, building causal ML models, and delivering strategic insights to leadership. This position is US–Remote Eligible with a competitive base pay and potential bonuses.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of industry experience in a quantitative analysis role with a Master’s degree or PhD.
• Strong knowledge of causal inference and experimental design.
• Strong knowledge of Bayesian modeling and statistical inference.
• Hands‑on experience building and deploying statistical or ML models in production environments.
• Skilled in Python/R and SQL.
• Proven ability to communicate clearly to varying technical levels.
• Ability to translate complex findings into compelling narratives.

Responsibilities

• Design rigorous experiments and quasi-experiments to measure causal impact of CS product launches.
• Build causal ML models to optimize budgets and maximize business impact.
• Conduct causal inference analyses to quantify long-term effects of product changes.
• Deliver strategic insights on quality-cost tradeoffs to leadership.
