Job summary

Reddit is seeking a Software Engineer on the Data Movement team to build scalable, fault-tolerant data infrastructure for batch and streaming workloads across the platform.

You will work with Spark, Flink, Airflow, Kubernetes, and cloud services to empower ML, BI, and analytics for ads, feed generation, and experimentation. This is a remote-friendly role. Join a collaborative team shaping Reddit's data capabilities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software engineering experience in a production setting.
• Proficient in object-oriented programming languages like Python, Scala, Go, or Java.
• Experience designing and implementing large-scale systems with proactive leadership.
• Experience with cloud services, Airflow, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Spark, Flink and/or modern cloud infrastructure.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Refine and maintain data infrastructure technologies to support ML and analytics.
• Own the Data Movement Platform for batch and stream data processing.
• Build infrastructure for Spark, Flink, and Airflow; contribute to open source as needed.
• Create automated solutions to reduce toil and provide self-service data access.
• Collaborate with teams to monitor, alert, and improve reliability, scalability, and latency.
