Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Database Developer/Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience in designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise data solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Big Data Platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Synapse) and a deep understanding of data modeling concepts, including star schema, snowflake model, and denormalized structures. Proficiency in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling, along with expertise in data governance, data catalog tools, and security implementations (such as row- and column-level security), is required. Experience with GCP and BigQuery is highly desirable.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Lead the design, development, and optimization of data models on GCP.
2. Promote best practices in data management and coding standards within the team.
3. Serve as a subject matter expert in BigQuery and SQL scripting.
4. Provide technical guidance and support to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data solutions into applications.
6. Identify skill gaps and provide training and mentorship.
7. Implement star schema, snowflake model, and denormalized structures based on business needs.
8. Develop and maintain data models ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
9. Define and enforce data governance practices, including metadata management, data lineage, and data quality controls.
10. Utilize data catalog tools to enhance data discoverability and accessibility.
11. Implement security measures such as row- and column-level security to ensure compliance.
12. Work with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to optimize data storage and retrieval.
13. Ensure query performance tuning, partitioning, clustering, and cost optimization in BigQuery.
14. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and best practices for data architecture and governance.
