Job summary

DataKind in the United States is seeking a Data Integration Specialist for a remote contract-to-hire role, roughly 40 hours per week. Core hours fall between 8am and 6pm Eastern Time, with potential conversion to full-time staff.

You will map, transform, and validate data across university systems to create a unified data model for higher-education analytics, working closely with SIS and LMS platforms and cross-functional teammates.

Qualifications

• Experience mapping data across schemas for higher education systems.
• Translate data structures without losing meaning; split/merge fields as needed.
• Write data dictionaries and mappings with traceability.

Responsibilities

• Perform data mapping and transformations to build a unified data model.
• Work with SIS and LMS schemas from ed-tech platforms.
• Review and prioritize data columns across systems for integration.
• Validate mappings and transformations to ensure accuracy.
• Contribute to complex transformations across schemas using filtering and logic.
• Support data quality using dbt and Great Expectations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external users.
