Job summary

Data Ideology is seeking a hands-on Data Governance Analyst to work at the intersection of governance, analytics, technology, and business. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Approximately 2–5 years of experience in data governance or analytics.
• Experience with stakeholders, data owners, and leadership.
• Experience in banking, financial services, or regulated industries (strong plus).
• Hands-on SQL experience and data rules translation ability.
• Experience with Power BI/Tableau/Looker and data governance tooling.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business, data, technology, and governance stakeholders to identify governance needs.
• Facilitate conversations with data owners to establish definitions, ownership, standards, and usage.
• Develop and maintain glossaries, data dictionaries, metadata, and governance docs.
• Assist with data quality initiatives and remediation of issues.
• Perform hands-on data analysis using SQL to investigate governance questions.
• Analyze datasets to validate rules, definitions, completeness, consistency, and accuracy.
• Translate business requirements into measurable data governance rules.
• Support data access, sharing, and usage governance processes.
• Build or maintain dashboards/metrics to monitor data quality and governance.
• Improve governance workflows and reduce manual processes.
• Clearly communicate findings to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Move governance initiatives from discussion to repeatable operational processes.
