Talon Hiring Solutions is recruiting a Data Engineer to join the Data and Analytics Team. The role focuses on building and maintaining the foundational data layer in Snowflake, leveraging Fivetran, dbt, and Azure Data Factory to power decision-making.

You will work with stakeholders across Marketing, Operations, and Finance to deliver reliable data solutions. The ideal candidate has 4+ years of experience in data engineering, strong SQL and Python skills, and familiarity with modern data

Qualifications

• 4+ years in data engineering or analytics engineering building production data pipelines.
• Strong SQL skills with modular, scalable logic in dbt.
• Python proficiency for data ingestion, transformation, automation, and web-related tasks.
• Hands-on Snowflake experience and modern data engineering practices.
• Experience with data integration tools such as Fivetran, Azure Data Factory, APIs, or web scraping.
• Familiarity with Git, version control, branching, code reviews, and CI/CD.
• Solid data modeling, data quality, testing, and documentation know-how.
• Ability to translate business questions into practical data solutions.
• Strong communication & collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proactive problem-solving and ability to work independently within a growing team.
• Experience in retail, CPG, consumer products, or consumer hardware.
• Exposure to streaming or event-driven data and analytics tools like Tableau/Streamlit.
• Familiarity with ML workflows, predictive modeling, or feature stores.
• Experience with medallion architecture.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and optimize pipelines ingesting data from multiple sources into Snowflake.
• Develop scalable data models using dbt following bronze-to-platinum tiers.
• Create reliable data solutions for reporting, BI, analytics, and downstream apps.
• Use SQL and Python to transform data, automate processes, and support integrations.
• Partner with Marketing, Operations, Finance, and other stakeholders to translate needs.
• Establish data quality checks, documentation, naming conventions, and definitions.
• Monitor pipelines, troubleshoot failures, and document root causes and fixes for reliability.
• Build semantic models to simplify data use and support natural-language querying.
• Collaborate with DnA Lead and Data Scientists on datasets for predictive analytics and ML.
• Participate in planning, requirements gathering, sprints, code reviews, and CI/CD.
• Help evaluate and implement data tools as capabilities grow.
