Independence Pet Holdings’ IDEA Data & Enterprise Analytics group is seeking a Data Engineer to build and operate enterprise-scale data platforms and pipelines across brands. You will design scalable solutions and collaborate with product, analytics, and operations teams.

The role emphasizes reliability, data quality, and governance, with hands-on work on dbt, Databricks, Airflow, and cloud services. Experience in consumer data domains like pet insurance or e-commerce is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3 years building and scaling cloud-based data platforms and pipelines.
• Strong SQL and Python skills, with a focus on automation, performance, and reliability.
• Experience with large-scale datasets, structured and unstructured data.
• Hands-on experience with modern data stack tools and streaming systems.
• Proficiency with AWS data services and ETL/ELT workflows.
• CI/CD, Git, and infrastructure-as-code experience.
• Ability to lead projects, influence stakeholders, and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale cloud-based data platforms and pipelines to support analytics, product, and operations.
• Own critical data workflows, ensuring reliability, performance, and quality.
• Implement modern data solutions using dbt, Databricks, ELT frameworks, and cloud platforms.
• Apply CI/CD, Git, testing, monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.
