Jobgether in Israel seeks a backend-focused Data Engineer to design scalable data pipelines powering analytics, ML, and scientific decisions in a fully remote, international environment.

You will collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and developers to ensure high-quality data flows and governance across biotech, pharma, and enterprise analytics. This role offers ownership of data architecture and modern tooling.

Qualifications

• Strong backend development with Python and scalable architecture.
• Experience with FastAPI, Django REST Framework, or Flask.
• Solid SQL, data modeling, and query optimization.
• Hands-on ETL/ELT pipeline experience.
• Experience integrating data from APIs, databases, and streaming systems.
• Familiarity with distributed data processing tools.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and quality principles.
• Cloud exposure on AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools is advantageous.
• Experience in life sciences data environments is a strong plus.
• Strong collaboration skills in distributed, international teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data systems for large datasets.
• Build and maintain data pipelines across environments and sources.
• Integrate structured and unstructured data into warehouses and lakes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality and accessibility.
• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT workflows for performance and reliability.
• Refine database schemas and data models; document technical details.
• Implement data governance, security standards, and compliance.
