Job summary

Fearless is seeking a Data Engineer (Consultant, Data & Analytics) to design, build, and optimize scalable data infrastructure powering analytics for federal public health programs. You will create secure, automated data pipelines using Python, SQL, PySpark, and Databricks on cloud-native platforms, ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and accessibility in a fully remote role.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/DS/IS/Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.
• Strong experience with ETL/ELT, data modeling, and distributed processing.
• Experience with Azure/AWS/GCP cloud ecosystems.
• Python, SQL, Spark experience; ML pipelines integration.
• Experience with large-scale data systems and data governance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows for public health analytics.
• Implement data modernization using APIs, ML/NLP, and AI capabilities.
• Build secure, compliant data infrastructure aligned with standards.
• Assemble, clean, and optimize large datasets to meet requirements.
• Develop automated processes for data delivery, quality validation, and performance.
• Use PySpark or Databricks to process data pipelines.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to improve data models.
• Support ad-hoc data needs to understand program and customer behaviors.
• Evaluate tools and platforms for ingestion, ML, orchestration, analytics.
• Monitor data volume, quality, and pipeline reliability; troubleshoot issues.
• Build dashboards and interfaces to deliver actionable insights.
• Document data flows and pipelines per customer requirements.
• Ensure 508 compliance for electronic deliverables; follow security/privacy standards.
