Job summary

VERSANT Media is seeking a Data Engineer II to build and operate pipelines powering GolfNow and our sports tech org. You will own production data systems in a modern AWS lakehouse, delivering trusted data for analytics, product teams, and AI applications.

This hands-on role emphasizes design, production operations, and collaboration with engineering, analytics, and data science to evolve the platform and support migration from legacy systems.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building, deploying, and supporting cloud data pipelines in AWS.
• Strong SQL and Python skills with ETL/ELT workflows.
• Knowledge of data modeling, warehousing, orchestration; familiarity with Airflow and Terraform.
• Experience optimizing production data systems for reliability and efficiency.
• Ability to solve ambiguous problems and understand data dependencies.
• Clear communication and cross-functional collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and models in an AWS-based lakehouse.
• Own production data services and improve reliability through monitoring and testing.
• Develop reusable components and governance for dataset onboarding and security.
