Job summary

B Lab is hiring a Junior Data Engineer for the Data & ML Platforms pillar. You will build and maintain data pipelines and onboard new data sources to support analytics and AI initiatives.

You will collaborate with analytics engineers and governance leads to ensure data quality, governance, and availability while exploring new tooling and approaches to speed onboarding and reliability.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in data engineering.
• Experience with DevOps culture emphasizing CI/CD.
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK).
• Designing and deploying data solutions and onboarding data sources into ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Strong SQL and scripting (Python, Java, or Scala).
• Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools.
• Knowledge of Hadoop, Spark, or Hive is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and scale ETL/ELT pipelines end-to-end.
• Onboard new data sources and integrate them into the platform.
• Collaborate with analytics engineers and governance leads to ensure data standards and availability.
• Monitor data pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability.
