Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions in Rockville, MD seeks a Data Engineer to develop and maintain enterprise data solutions that support digital transformation, data integration, analytics, and governance.

You will work with AWS data services, ETL/ELT pipelines, Data Mesh architectures, and AI/ML-ready datasets across the organization, collaborating with architects, engineers, analysts, and business teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE or related field; 4+ years in data modeling, integration, and solution development.
• Strong Python, SQL, and/or C#/.NET skills for processing structured and unstructured data.
• Hands-on with AWS data services (S3, Glue, EMR, Redshift, Lake Formation, Kinesis, Lambda, IAM).
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and integrating data from MES, ERP, PLM, SCADA/Historian, LIMS, QMS.
• Familiarity with DataOps, Git workflows, CI/CD, IaC, automated testing, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines integrating MES, ERP, PLM, SCADA/Historian, and other systems.
• Design reusable, domain-oriented data products with data models, metadata, mappings, and governance.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, analysts, and business teams to deliver secure, scalable data solutions.
• Manage full lifecycle of data platform development using Git, CI/CD, IaC, automated tests, and DataOps best practices.
• Support analytics and Digital Thread initiatives with AI/ML-ready datasets and RAG use cases.
