Job summary

GovCIO is hiring a Data Engineer to design and build enriched datasets using medallion architecture in Databricks, sourcing data from the VA Corporate Data Warehouse (CDW) and other internal and external systems. The datasets you build will feed directly into Power BI semantic models used by stakeholders across the organization.

This role works closely with clients to gather requirements, track work in JIRA, and deliver high-quality, well-documented data pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of experience or commensurate experience.
• Hands-on data pipeline experience in Databricks using PySpark and SQL.
• Strong SQL skills with complex joins, aggregations, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Power BI semantic models and data preparation.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain medallion architecture datasets in Databricks.
• Develop and monitor Databricks jobs and pipelines.
• Collaborate with clients to gather requirements and validate outputs.
• Ensure data quality and documentation of lineage and business rules.
