AfterQuery Experts is seeking a software engineer for a remote, contract engagement focused on delivering reliable, well-tested code across diverse stacks. You will work 10–20 hours per week over 2–3 weeks, collaborating asynchronously to design, implement, debug, and document features with clear specs and code reviews.

The role suits developers with 1–3 years of experience who can contribute independently and communicate technical decisions clearly.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language.
• Ability to independently scope, implement, and deliver features or fixes.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in CS, SE, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and ship clean, well-tested code across multiple projects and stacks.
• Debug, refactor, and optimize code for performance and maintainability.
• Participate in code reviews with constructive feedback.
• Collaborate asynchronously on specs, architecture decisions, and plans.
• Document code, APIs, and approaches clearly and reproducibly.
