Team Velocity is seeking a mid-level Data Engineer to build and scale a data platform powering analytics, BI, ML, and customer-facing products. You will develop reliable data pipelines, model data structures, and work with Snowflake on large datasets. The role emphasizes AI tooling usage within a modern data stack and collaboration with product, engineering, and BI teams.

Remote-friendly, with preferred Eastern/Central US hours. Starting salary around $115,000 annually, with full-time benefits.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in Data Engineering or related field.
• Strong SQL skills with a modern cloud data platform, preferably Snowflake.
• Solid Python proficiency and sound software development practices.
• Experience building ELT/ETL pipelines.
• Understanding of data modeling and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience integrating structured and semi-structured data from multiple sources.
• Familiarity with data orchestration and transformation frameworks.
• Version control (Git) and branch-based collaboration.
• Strong troubleshooting instincts and desire to excel in data/SQL debugging.
• Clear written and verbal communication for a remote-first environment.

Responsabilités

• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and ELT/ETL workflows.
• Develop and optimize data models and data structures that support reporting, analytics, ML, and operational apps.
• Use Snowflake and modern cloud data platforms to ingest, transform, and optimize large datasets.
• Partner with BI and Data Science teams to deliver trusted, production-ready datasets.
• Build and maintain data foundations that AI/ML workloads depend on; clean, well-documented datasets and feature tables.
• Implement data quality, validation, and monitoring processes.
• Support both batch and near real-time data integration requirements.
• Contribute to APIs and data services for internal and customer-facing apps.
• Use AI coding assistants to accelerate development, while validating everything that ships under your name.
• Improve data pipeline performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Document data architectures, pipeline processes, and engineering standards.
• Participate in code and design reviews and uphold engineering best practices.
