Job summary

Giga Energy Inc. is seeking a Director of Operations to own day-to-day reliability, staffing, maintenance, and performance of its live data centers.

You will establish the operating standard across the portfolio, define staffing models, maintenance schedules, escalation procedures, and performance benchmarks. You will manage facilities teams and vendors across multiple sites, report operational health to executives, and ensure clean handoffs from commissioning to steady-state operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in facility or data center operations with leadership across sites
• Experience owning uptime, maintenance, and staffing for critical facilities
• Proven track record scaling an operations function in growing environments
• Strong knowledge of MEP and electrical systems in data centers (generators, UPS, cooling)
• Experience managing budgets and vendor contracts across multiple sites
• Ability to present risks and performance to executive leadership

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operational performance across live data center facilities
• Build and enforce standard operating procedures for staffing, maintenance, escalation, and performance benchmarks
• Manage facility operations teams and site leads across locations
• Oversee vendor/service contracts, maintenance contractors, and SLAs
• Lead root cause analysis and update standards to prevent recurrence
• Own portfolio operations budget and staffing trade-offs for new facilities
• Report on operational health and risk to executive leadership
• Partner with commissioning/construction teams for smooth handoffs to steady-state operations
• Drive continuous improvement in operating procedures for portfolio scaling
