Job summary

Thermal Works LLC is seeking a Commercial Cost Engineer to join our team, working directly with the COO and CEO to support pricing and commercial evaluation of large-scale cooling systems. You will develop accurate, scalable cost models covering equipment, logistics, and services for domestic and international projects.

This is not a traditional MEP estimating role, focusing on OEM equipment, modular systems, and mission-critical infrastructure.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of experience in equipment pricing, cost engineering, or industrial estimating.
Experience with large-scale or multi-megawatt systems.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain cost models for data center cooling systems, covering equipment, logistics, and services.
Support pricing for single-site, campus, and large-scale deployments.
Apply pricing tiers and volume breakpoints for multi-megawatt projects.
Account for regional differences in labor, logistics, compliance, and currency (US and EU).
Partner with Sales Engineering and Operations to align pricing with technical scope and execution reality.
Identify commercial risk and support margin analysis on complex opportunities.
Contribute to standardizing pricing tools and estimating processes.
