Job summary

Pkaza Data Center Recruiting seeks a Mechanical Controls Engineer for data centers with Ashburn, VA focus. Role centers on design, integration and commissioning of BAS and mechanical controls in mission-critical facilities.

You will lead automation design teams, mentor engineers, and collaborate with electrical and mechanical teams to deliver HVAC control systems, with travel up to 5–10%.

Qualifications

• Data Center engineering experience with automation and controls.
• Experience integrating PLC/ALC with data center facilities.
• 5–10+ years with BMS/BCM/BAS systems.
• Experience with controls products from major vendors.
• Ability to read one-lines, blueprints and CAD drawings.
• PLC/ALC programming experience.
• Controls design for critical HVAC equipment.
• Familiarity with BACnet IP/MSTP and Modbus protocols.
• Strong client-facing communication and project delivery.
• Travel 5–10% if near jobsite.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation design teams on complex projects and coordinate with disciplines.
• Mentor mechanical engineers and train on controls design.
• Design and implement front end platforms for HVAC controls.
• Develop configuration, programming, networking and diagnostics standards.
• Engineer and implement programming changes.
• Lead modification of logic to meet SOPs and MOPs.
• Design controls for centralized chillers and condenser water plants.
• Review shop drawings and sequences of operations.
• Assist in BAS network diagnostics and IT/OT interface considerations.
• Prepare project communications and weekly progress reports.
