Qualifications

• 5+ years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 with PhD; 9 years with HS Diploma
• Must be a Citizen
• Able to obtain Public Trust
• Experience in data engineering, analytics, or related roles
• Proficiency with SQL and relational/NoSQL databases
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and distributed data processing
• Hands-on with at least one modern data engineering stack
• Proficiency with AWS/Azure/OCI
• Understanding of API-driven integration and data streaming
• Experience migrating data from legacy systems
• Ability to design robust data models for transactional/analytical workloads
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of modern data architectures for the modernization framework
• Assess legacy systems and define data structures, quality, storage, and transformation logic
• Define data migration, cleansing, normalization, and reconciliation strategies
• Establish data standards, naming conventions, and governance for the ecosystem
• Build scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and distribution
• Implement ETL/ELT solutions using cloud services
• Design APIs, streaming processes, and batch workflows for integration
• Ensure reliability, performance, and security of data pipelines
• Analyze datasets to identify inconsistencies and transformation needs
• Collaborate with business analysts to translate needs into data requirements
• Create dashboards/reports to support modernization decisions
• Provide insights to stakeholders from detailed data analysis
• Mentor junior/mid-level data engineers and analysts
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and planning
• Communicate data risks, issues, and progress to leadership
• Ensure data validation, quality checks, and monitoring across pipelines
• Support data lineage and cataloging efforts
