Raintree Systems, Inc. is seeking a Data Architect to drive platform modernization by diagnosing data challenges across legacy and modern stacks and focusing on target-state architecture, schema strategy, event-driven patterns, data governance, and scalable data lifecycle policies.

This high-autonomy role will influence enterprise software used by millions, collaborating with Engineering, Product, and Enterprise Architecture leadership to align data architecture with product goals and governance

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data architecture focusing on target-state design rather than DBA tasks.
• Fluent in data modeling for relational and NoSQL systems and governance.
• Experience with streaming/messaging patterns and modern integration approaches.
• Strong cloud experience, preferably AWS, with data lifecycle strategies.
• Clear communication of complex data decisions to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose core data challenges across legacy and modern stacks.
• Design future-state data architecture, including migration sequencing and rollout plans.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, and Enterprise Architecture leadership to align data strategy with product goals.
• Establish data architecture standards, governance, and comprehensive documentation.
• Serve as SME on data decisions across the enterprise data landscape.
