Job summary

NBCUniversal is seeking a senior Data Architect to shape the Unified Data platform for Operations & Technology. You will lead the design of a greenfield, centralized data ecosystem built on Microsoft Fabric, integrating real-time events and historical data to enable reporting, analytics, automation, and AI-enabled data products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, solution architecture, or related roles.
• Strong experience designing lakehouse and/or warehouse architectures.
• Strong expertise in SQL and proficiency with Python and/or PySpark.
• Experience architecting data solutions on Microsoft Fabric, Azure, or comparable platforms.
• Experience with batch and real-time data solutions.
• Experience with APIs, data integration, distributed processing, and enterprise patterns.
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead technical design discussions.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end Microsoft Fabric architecture including OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, and Real-Time Intelligence.
• Lead greenfield platform architecture and establish security, deployment patterns, and operating principles.
• Provide technical leadership translating requirements into epics, stories, and tasks.
• Centralize fragmented operational data into domain-aligned data products and reusable datasets.
• Design data solutions spanning IT services, workplace tech, endpoints, identity, infrastructure, and telemetry.
• Architect real-time and historical data solutions to support analytics and AI use cases.
• Establish lakehouse and warehouse patterns, data modeling, and semantic standards.
• Define resilient ingestion, transformation, and orchestration across APIs, databases, SaaS, and events.
