Job summary

Cherokee Federal is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to support NSF OCIO under the Oversight and Compliance Team. The role focuses on researching requirements, drafting policy content, and supporting governance and compliance activities while collaborating closely with stakeholders across the organization.

This is a full-time remote position for Cherokee Federal's cybersecurity contract with NSF in Alexandria, VA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Public Policy, or related field.
• CompTIA Security+ certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
• Familiarity with federal cybersecurity frameworks and requirements (NIST RMF, FISMA, OMB memoranda).
• Experience contributing to policy, procedure, or technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support the development, revision, and maintenance of NSF cybersecurity policies and reports.
• Research and interpret federal cybersecurity guidance and translate requirements into NSF policy.
• Collaborate with SMEs, system owners, ISSOs, and stakeholders to gather input and ensure policies are practical.
