Blu Omega LLC is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support a federal program for the National Cancer Institute. The role is remote with collaboration across Rockville, MD operations, focusing on analyzing security requirements, supporting security solutions, and generating documentation across NCI systems and environments.

The position requires experience with cybersecurity risk management, assessment and authorization activities, and security engineering within a mission-driven setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or related IT/security roles.
• Experience with cybersecurity risk, security requirements, vulnerability management, or security controls.
• Familiarity with NIST, RMF, FISMA, assessment, and authorization concepts.
• Ability to analyze technical information and clearly document findings.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze cybersecurity requirements and identify appropriate security solutions.
• Perform security risk analysis and assist with risk assessments.
• Gather and organize technical information related to systems, security tools, and requirements.
• Support development and maintenance of security standards, procedures, and documentation.
• Assist with vulnerability management, security controls, and remediation activities.
• Support RMF, assessment, and authorization activities as assigned.
• Collaborate with technical and cybersecurity teams to address security risks.
• Assist with security engineering, monitoring, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Document findings, recommendations, and technical information.
