Job summary

CDM Innovations is seeking an early‑career Cybersecurity Engineer II to support administration, maintenance, and security of Windows, cloud, network, and cybersecurity infrastructure. This full‑time remote role offers mentorship from a Principal Engineer and emphasizes hands‑on system security and automation.

Responsibilities include patching, configurations, vulnerability management, incident response, and security monitoring across Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required.
• Background check is required.
• CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification.
• 3–5 years of hands-on system administration, engineering, or infrastructure experience.
• Experience with Windows systems and cloud environments.
• Familiarity with RMF, DISA STIGs, and security baselines.
• Basic scripting or automation using PowerShell or Python.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and secure Windows systems, cloud environments, networks, and supporting infrastructure.
• Perform routine system administration tasks including patching and access management.
• Monitor health, performance, and security; triage issues across on‑prem and cloud.
• Support deployment and maintenance of VMs and cloud resources (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
• Configure networking, DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, and access controls; implement security baselines.
• Conduct vulnerability scans, remediation, and verify corrective actions.
• Monitor SIEM, endpoint, IDS/IPS, and cloud security logs for potential events.
• Assist with incident response, containment, and recovery activities.
• Develop system documentation and network diagrams; contribute to secure operations.
