Job summary

BNSF Railway is seeking a junior cybersecurity professional to join the Vulnerability & Patch Management team. You will learn to run vulnerability scans, track CVEs, and assist with patching across enterprise systems and cloud environments.

You'll work with seasoned engineers, gain exposure to SIEM dashboards, and contribute to runbooks and compliance efforts (NIST, SOX). This remote US role offers travel to Fort Worth, TX for in-person meetings and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the US.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or related roles.
• Basic understanding of CVEs, CVSS scores, and patch cycles.
• Foundational knowledge of Windows and/or Linux.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in a structured team.

Responsibilities

• Run vulnerability scans and assist senior engineers with remediation.
• Track, triage, and document vulnerabilities across enterprise systems.
• Help research CVEs and understand potential impacts for risk prioritization.
• Assist in patch deployment and verify patch effectiveness.
• Contribute to runbooks and security-related documentation.
