Job summary

CAI is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst Intern in a remote, part-time role in the United States. The program focuses on security operations, vulnerability management, threat analysis, incident response, system hardening, and governance, risk, and compliance within a simulated client environment.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in or recently completed in Cybersecurity, IT, or CS and possess solid writing and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in or recent completion of a degree, certificate, or training program in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, networking concepts, operating systems, and security best practices
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to create professional reports and technical documentation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks in a remote environment

Responsibilities

• Perform asset inventory activities and establish a security baseline for a simulated client network
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and document findings, risks, and remediation recommendations
• Analyze attack vectors and cybersecurity threats impacting the simulated client environment
• Implement and document approved system hardening activities within a controlled environment
• Participate in incident response exercises and create detailed incident reports
• Perform security operations activities, including alert triage and monitoring system tuning
• Assist with governance, risk, and compliance initiatives, including drafting security policies and risk documentation
• Develop and present a capstone security program summary for client leadership
• Attend daily standups and complete weekly written deliverables
• Incorporate feedback from Elysium Cyber staff into ongoing assignments and deliverables
• Work within an isolated AWS-based training environment accessed through a web browser
• Collaborate with mentors and technical staff to achieve weekly learning objectives
