Job summary

CAI is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst Intern to join a structured internship program focused on security operations, vulnerability management, threat analysis, incident response, system hardening, and governance, risk, and compliance activities in a simulated client environment. This position is part-time and remote.

Enrollment in or recent completion of a cybersecurity/IT-related program is required, with a focus on developing practical reporting, analysis, and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in or recent completion of a degree, certificate, or training program in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, networking concepts, operating systems, and security best practices.
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to create professional reports and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks in a remote environment.
• Reliable computer and internet connection.
• Ability to complete weekly assignments and deliverables within established timelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform asset inventory activities and establish a security baseline for a simulated client network.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and document findings, risks, and remediation recommendations.
• Analyze attack vectors and cybersecurity threats impacting the simulated client environment.
• Implement and document approved system hardening activities within a controlled environment.
• Participate in incident response exercises and create detailed incident reports.
• Perform security operations activities, including alert triage and monitoring system tuning.
• Assist with governance, risk, and compliance initiatives, including drafting security policies and risk documentation.
• Develop and present a capstone security program summary for client leadership.
• Attend daily standups and complete weekly written deliverables.
• Incorporate feedback from Elysium Cyber staff into ongoing assignments and deliverables.
• Work within an isolated AWS-based training environment accessed through a web browser.
• Collaborate with mentors and technical staff to achieve weekly learning objectives.
