Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to lead security engineering efforts across the bank's information assets and technology infrastructure in a remote-friendly role. You will supervise security assessments, identify gaps, and design risk-mitigation solutions while collaborating with management and business teams.

The position requires hands-on knowledge of IAM/SSO platforms, scripting in Python and PowerShell, and the ability to mentor associates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 8 years' experience in Systems Engineering, Network, or Information Security.
• OR High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent and 12 years' experience in Systems Engineering, Network, or Information Security.
• Experience with IAM/SSO platforms (Okta, Ping) and security protocols.
• Strong scripting and automation in Python and PowerShell.

Responsibilities

• Lead security assessments, identify gaps, and implement risk mitigation.
• Oversee security projects and associate teams as assigned.
• Investigate incidents, prepare reports, and convey findings to management.
• Develop playbooks addressing recurring issues and enhance monitoring.
• Advise management on security policies, standards, and strategies.
• Mentor and train associates to ensure team effectiveness.
