Job summary

Fortress Information Security is seeking a Cyber Operator to support vulnerability management workflows for a major client engagement. This is a remote, full-time role with $55,271-$75,369 annual compensation, depending on experience.

You will engage in vulnerability monitoring, triage, remediation coordination, validation, and audit-ready deliverables while partnering with senior analysts and client stakeholders. A strong foundation in cybersecurity and communication is essential.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in cybersecurity or related fields; internships or boot camp considered.
• Strong written and verbal communication for audit-ready deliverables.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools and SharePoint.
• Able to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to learn new tools and workflows and apply them.

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day vulnerability management workflows following procedures and SLAs.
• Monitor advisories and threat intel to identify vulnerabilities and escalate as needed.
• Validate findings with evidence and document determinations for audits.
• Package findings into remediation plans with owners and due dates.
• Create and manage remediation tickets, track status, and coordinate with owners.
• Verify remediation with re-scans and update configurations as required.
• Support risk-acceptance and exception processes with questionnaires and records.
• Participate in escalation sessions and capture owners, actions, and decisions.
• Maintain accurate records and produce routine data-quality reviews.
• Own recurring reporting and executive-readout materials; ensure timely delivery.
• Refine operational communications for clarity and escalate technical changes.
• Use approved AI tools with human review of outputs and improve prompts.
• Build proficiency across workflows and support additional activities.
