American Consumer Credit Counseling, Inc. is seeking a Credit Counselor to guide clients toward better financial health. You will conduct one‑on‑one counseling sessions by phone, review client budgets, and provide tailored recommendations on debt management and credit solutions.

Join a nonprofit, mission-driven team with opportunities to obtain NFCC certification within six months. The role supports remote work and requires strong communication and confidentiality in client interactions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associates or bachelor's preferred.
• 1–2 years of credit counseling, financial coaching, or debt management experience.
• NFCC Credit Counselor Certification to be obtained within six months.
• Experience analyzing client budgets, income, and debt to create repayment plans.
• Experience providing one‑on‑one counseling (phone/online) in confidential settings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Availability to work Mon–Thu 2:00–10:00 PM ET and Fri 12:00–8:00 PM ET.

Responsibilities

• Build trust and rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Conduct one‑on‑one credit counseling sessions via phone; review budgets and provide personalized recommendations.
• Guide clients through debt management programs, bankruptcy options, credit remediation, collections, and credit reporting issues.
• Educate clients on credit reports and scores and strategies for healthy financial habits.
• Document interactions and maintain confidential client records.
