Job summary

Acxiom is seeking a Data Acquisition Specialist – CPG purchase data to own the review, acquisition, and management of consumer purchase data partners. You will identify high-quality datasets from retailers, data providers, aggregators, and other sources, negotiate data access, and translate business needs into actionable data-acquisition strategies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in data acquisition, data partnerships, data procurement, data operations, market research, or a related field.
• Experience working with CPG, retail, consumer transaction, point-of-sale, loyalty, panel, or shopper data.
• Strong understanding of data-provider ecosystems and third-party data licensing.
• Experience evaluating datasets and assessing data quality and usability.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and relationship-management skills.
• Ability to translate business and analytical requirements into clear data specifications.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential sources of CPG purchase and transaction data, including retailers, loyalty programs, POS systems, data aggregators, panel providers, and other sources.
• Manage end-to-end data acquisition from source identification through contracting, onboarding, delivery, and ongoing data management.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand data requirements including geography, transaction detail, and refresh frequency.
• Facilitate data licensing and onboarding with Legal, Product, Finance, Data Engineering, and Analytics teams.
• Review data-provider documentation, schemas, sample files, APIs, and delivery specifications.
• Conduct initial data-quality assessments and identify gaps or inconsistencies before integration.
• Monitor data feeds and vendor performance, escalating issues as needed.
• Maintain documentation covering data sources, licensing terms, methodologies, coverage, and limitations.
• Research emerging data sources and technologies to improve visibility into consumer purchasing behavior.
• Support vendor comparisons, RFPs, pricing evaluations, and contract negotiations.
• Ensure acquired data complies with contractual, privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
