Job summary

The Kansas Judicial Branch seeks a visionary Court Forms & Access Officer to lead statewide court forms, self-help publications, and digital legal content. You will apply plain-language standards and user-centered design to bridge complex legal processes and public understanding, leveraging document automation technology.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) or other relevant advanced degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in court administration, legal technology, legal services, or a related field.
• Familiarity with Kansas statutes, court rules, and policies.

Responsibilities

• Plain-language strategy and legal design overseeing statewide court forms and public-facing materials.
• Lead end-to-end lifecycle of forms, with collaborative drafting, user testing, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure accessibility and plain-language compliance (WCAG/ADA).
• Support document automation and digital workflow solutions for self-represented litigants.
• Lead cross-functional teams and manage vendor relationships to publish accessible forms.
