Shermco US is hiring a remote Controls Engineer (PLC/Estimator) to evaluate and estimate industrial electrical and automation projects with a focus on systems integration. You will conceptually design control architectures, specify PLC platforms, HMI hardware, and software for turnkey solutions including Engineering, Panels, Desktop HMI, Programming, Installation and Commissioning.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in the industrial electrical industry.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in construction estimating.
• Journeyman Electrician license preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and standards.
• Ability to conceptualize and specify complete PLC/HMI hardware and software solutions from limited customer inputs.
• Familiar with NEC/NFPA-70E and related standards.
• Must be able to communicate clearly in English.

Responsabilités

• Consult with industrial clients to gather requirements and conceptualize control system architecture.
• Develop comprehensive estimates for turnkey integration solutions including engineering, panels, HMI, PLC programming, installation and commissioning.
• Review specifications and drawings to determine estimates for electrical projects.
• Estimate new construction and retrofit upgrades.
• Identify opportunities to modernize aging infrastructure and reduce downtime.
• Attend pre-bid meetings or site tours to confirm take-offs.
• Prepare takeoffs, submittals, and proposals.
• Request quotes from vendors for PLC/HMI hardware and software.
• Ensure timely completion of client-required documents.
