Job summary

Atlas Advisors LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Staff Accountant to assist our CFO with a project-based accounting cleanup. This junior role focuses on backlogs, reconciliations, and routine entries, all while maintaining accuracy under tight timelines.

The position is fully remote, 20 hours per week to start, with potential to scale up to 40 hours as backlog volume demands, and will end when the accounting backlog is resolved.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented and hands-on with granular transactional details.
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and GL impact.
• Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, basic pivot tables, sorting and formulas).
• Willingness to work independently on repetitive or detailed tasks.
• Temporary, contract-based role that ends when backlog is resolved.

Responsibilities

• Assist CFO with reviewing, matching, and reconciling historical GL accounts.
• Research discrepancies and missing documentation across manuals and logs.
• Perform subledger-to-general ledger reconciliations (AP, AR, bank).
• Enter, verify, and code vendor invoices, expense reports, and billing data.
• Maintain digital audit trails and filing for reconciled transactions.
