Job summary

Scale LLP seeks a California-barred litigator who can be located anywhere within California. This contract position offers remote work with a reduced hours schedule averaging 20 to 30 hours per week for an initial 6 to 8 month term.

You will support sophisticated litigation and counseling matters for clients in outdoor recreation, sports, hospitality, and resort industries, working closely with an established partner and with potential for full-time conversion.

Qualifications

• Active California bar license and residence in California.
• 7+ years of civil litigation experience, ideally including complex commercial, liability, or catastrophic injury matters.
• Strong legal writing, including motion practice and pretrial filings.

Responsibilities

• Support sophisticated litigation and counseling matters for outdoor recreation, sports, hospitality, and resort clients.
• Work directly with a partner and contribute to client relationships.
• Manage matters with a high degree of ownership while maintaining a flexible, remote work arrangement.
