Job summary

Digital Pulp is seeking a Senior Content Strategist to lead our content strategy team and own how the agency approaches messaging, voice, and writing. Remote with NY overlap; travel for client work may occur.

You will present to presidents and CMOs, shaping content governance and client strategy with a high standard of quality. The role reports to the Chief Creative Officer and leads a team of strategists and writers, plus freelancers.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in content strategy, brand messaging, or editorial strategy.
• At least 3 years managing writers or strategists.
• Agency/consultancy experience with budgets and hour estimates.
• Portfolio of messaging and voice/ tone systems with practical guidance.
• Strong editing skills with ability to justify changes.
• Experience building reusable methods, templates, or standards.
• Content architecture instincts for large, content-heavy sites.
• Comfort partnering with UX on wireframes and page flows.
• Confident presenting to senior stakeholders with clear rationale.
• Responsible AI fluency to speed up synthesis while protecting confidentiality.
• Understanding AI-powered search impact on content structure.

Responsibilities

• Define content strategy methodology including voice-and-tone, audits, remapping, and governance.
• Write and maintain editorial standards for client-facing writing.
• Build and revise team frameworks as projects evolve.
• Review content deliverables before clients.
• Hire, mentor, and develop strategists and writers.
• Edit and critique the team's work to raise quality across drafts.
• Staff projects and balance workload across engagements.
• Develop messaging frameworks and voice/tone systems clients can use immediately.
• Collaborate with brand, UX, and design on site storytelling.
• Lead discovery sessions and present to senior stakeholders.
• Train client content teams.
• Shape pitches and scope content for new engagements.
• Lead DP's thought leadership on higher-ed content strategy.
• Own DP's voice, case studies, and marketing copy.
