Job summary

Hi-Peak Staffing is seeking a Construction Controller to join our client in the exterior services and construction sector. The role reports to the CFO and oversees accounting across multiple operating companies, including job costing, WIP reporting, and project profitability.

This remote leadership position requires deep construction accounting expertise, multi-entity experience, and the ability to build scalable processes while coordinating with lenders, auditors, and ownership.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Construction accounting and job costing expertise.
• Experience managing accounting across multiple entities/locations.
• Consolidations and balance sheet reconciliations experience.
• Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis skills.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with Sage Intacct and/or ServiceTitan preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes across multiple entities.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements and reports for leadership, lenders, board and owners.
• Ensure GAAP-compliant, timely financial reporting and robust controls.
• Own balance sheet reconciliations and ensure proper documentation.
• Oversee accounting operations, transactions, and internal controls.
• Manage annual audits and liaise with external auditors/CPAs.
• Oversee lender reporting and covenant compliance.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A activities.
• Oversee construction accounting functions including job costing and WIP reporting.
• Provide financial analysis for capital investments, pricing, and contracts.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting/tax requirements.
• Develop scalable accounting processes as the company grows.
• Assist in integrating new entities from acquisitions.
