Job summary

Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation is seeking a Conservation Policy Analyst to support national and state-level policy work advancing biodiversity and pesticide reduction efforts. You will analyze legislation, prepare briefs, and develop advocacy materials while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role is remote with occasional travel, reports to the Director of Conservation Policy, and requires strong communication skills and a passion for conservation.

Qualifications

• Experience analyzing legislation or policy issues.
• Strong written communication with the public.
• Interpreting scientific information for non-technical audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Track and analyze state and federal legislation and regulations.
• Prepare briefs, summaries, memos, and background materials.
• Draft policy comments, testimony, and advocacy materials.
• Support coalitions and engagement with officials and agencies.
• Represent Xerces at meetings and public hearings when needed.
