Job summary

Newton is seeking a Compliance Associate to support the company’s compliance function and strengthen the culture of integrity across the organization. You will assist with regulatory alignment, policy updates, and record-keeping while working with a remote team across Canada.

The role emphasizes meticulous analysis, documentation, and collaboration to address risks and ensure adherence to applicable laws and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, law, or a related field.
• Complete CIRE/CSC, Supervisory and/or trader exams through CIRO/CSI.
• Knowledge of financial regulations and industry best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Impeccable communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring the company's compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
• Support periodic compliance reviews and assessments to identify issues, gaps and risks.
• Maintain accurate and organized compliance records, including policies and reports.
• Assist with drafting, reviewing, and updating compliance policies and procedures.
• Support internal compliance audits, reviews, control testing, and risk assessments, including data gathering and documenting findings.
• Assist with investigating and documenting compliance incidents, breaches, and deficiencies.
• Maintain compliance tracking logs and assist with tracking corrective actions and reporting.
