Job summary

Food for Lane County is hiring Community Health Workers to support low-income families across Lane County. The role involves connecting community members with local food assistance and social services, providing referrals, screenings, and education in English and Spanish.

Some in-person events in Eugene are expected, with travel as needed. A CHW certification is preferred or obtainable with employer support.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred; CHW certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Excellent customer service and communications skills.
• Familiarity with community resources and navigating social services.

Responsibilities

• Engage with community members at events and tabling opportunities to provide resources and represent FFLC.
• Provide resource referrals, screenings, and education based on eligibility for food assistance and other programs.
• Navigate referrals to internal FFLC programs, partners, and external services; assist with enrollment and follow-up.
