Job summary

BGIS is seeking a Commissioning Agent to support commissioning of critical power, HVAC and BAS/BMS systems. The role is remote in the United States with extensive travel to client sites and training events.

The candidate should have 7 years experience in electrical power or mechanical systems, an AA degree or equivalent, proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office, and willingness to travel 75%. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 7 years of industry experience in electrical power distribution or mechanical systems.
• AA degree or military training or equivalent work experience.
• Experience diagnosing and solving construction and operational problems.
• Be organized with excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience with MS Word and Excel is a must.
• Knowledge of building codes and construction industry standards.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Must have or be able to obtain a passport.
• Five years of commissioning experience including performance contracting requirements.
• ASHRAE commissioning procedures knowledge preferred.
• Travel willingness: 75% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Perform design reviews of systems.
• Develop and oversee startup and commissioning policies and procedures.
• QA/QC of equipment installation.
• Perform construction observations and write functional test plans.
• Execute tests for electrical/mechanical systems per standards.
• Assist in training plant operations and maintenance personnel.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors on problem resolution and testing.
• Review and analyze data and prepare technical reports.
• Maintain communication with clients, contractors and project team.
• Manage small to mid-size projects to meet client expectations.
