Job summary

Champions Funding LLC is seeking a seasoned residential appraiser to join our remote underwriting team. You will manage and review appraisal work for Non-QM loan collateral, coordinating with AMCs, brokers, and underwriters to ensure timely, compliant valuations.

The role requires state licensure, 3+ years' experience, and strong analytic and communication skills to identify risks and explain findings. You will stay updated on URAR standards and investor overlays while maintaining high-quality,

Qualifications

• Active state-licensed or state-certified residential appraiser in good standing.
• Minimum 3+ years of residential appraisal or mortgage collateral review experience.
• Experience evaluating investment properties and complex rural or unique properties.
• Familiarity with appraisal platforms (Encompass, LendingQB, MeridianLink).
• Strong analytical, valuation, and risk assessment abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Order, track, and manage residential appraisals through approved AMCs.
• Review appraisal reports for USPAP and investor compliance.
• Analyze property valuations, market conditions, and comps.
• Evaluate collateral for Non-QM loan products (DSCR, bank statement, investment properties).
• Identify red flags in adjustments and comps selection.
• Document collateral findings clearly and escalate risks.
• Coordinate revisions, ROVs, and property conditions.
• Communicate with AMCs, underwriters, brokers, and internal teams.
• Ensure appraisal turn times and service levels.
• Stay current on appraisal regulations and Non-QM overlays.
• Participate in audits and quality control reviews.
