Job summary

Upperline Health is seeking a Collaborative Physician to provide clinical oversight and partnership for our South Carolina-based Nurse Practitioners. This part-time, flexible role offers professional mentorship and a chance to advance value-based care.

The physician will supervise NP care, conduct chart reviews, ensure compliance with state regulations, and participate in virtual team meetings. Board certification in Family or Internal Medicine is required, with an active license.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with an active, unrestricted medical license.
• Board Certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related specialty.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, preferably in primary care or chronic disease management.
• Experience collaborating with or supervising Nurse Practitioners.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Knowledge of state collaborative practice regulations.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with a commitment to team-based, value-driven care.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the collaborating physician for SC-based Nurse Practitioners per state requirements.
• Provide clinical consultation and support to NPs on patient care and complex treatment plans.
• Review NP documentation for compliance, quality, and protocol alignment.
• Participate in scheduled virtual team meetings and state law requirements.
• Be available for timely communication and collaboration via phone, secure messaging, or virtual meetings.
• Support NP onboarding and clinical development to ensure consistent care delivery.
• Partner with regional and operational leaders to ensure regulatory compliance and clinical excellence.
