Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Optum Insight is seeking a Coding Quality Auditor to ensure regulatory compliance across inpatient coding and auditing processes. You will monitor laws and implement standard policies, partnering with CDI and quality teams to improve reimbursement and coding accuracy.

You may telecommute from anywhere in the United States, with emphasis on maintaining expert knowledge of federal/state regulations and delivering training to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• AAPC or AHIMA certification (CCS, CPC, RHIT or RHIA) preferred.
• 3+ years inpatient facility coding and auditing experience.
• 1+ years working with CDI and quality leadership to improve reimbursement and coding accuracy.
• 1+ years experience with EMR coding workflows and computer assisted coding tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct internal monitoring/audits of inpatient coding charts to identify risks and gaps.
• Analyze audit results to identify risks and communicate findings.
• Identify trends to flag potential compliance issues and report accordingly.
• Provide quality feedback through internal coding quality audits to staff and leadership.
• Maintain expert knowledge of coding and applicable laws; promote ethical behavior and best practices.
