GDH is seeking a COBOL/IDMS Software Designer to analyze requirements and design COBOL-based solutions for IBM mainframe environments. You will focus on solution design, requirements analysis, system architecture, and technical specs for development teams.

Responsibilities include gathering requirements, creating specs, designing data structures, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver compliant software solutions. This fully remote role is within the United States.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
2–4 years of relevant experience.
Experience with IBM mainframe environments.

Responsibilities

Gather and analyze business requirements.
Create program specifications and technical documentation.
Design data structures and processing logic.
Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams.
Support software development projects from planning through implementation.
Verify compliance with client and regulatory standards.
Translate high-level strategies into system requirements and implementation specs.
Establish and coordinate development standards, practices, and procedures.
Design interfaces and integrate system components into complete solutions.
Develop system-level verification procedures and UAT.
