QBE, LLC is seeking a Cloud Engineer - Mid - Cloud Security Engineering to design, implement, and maintain secure cloud capabilities supporting NIH/OD-OIT. This role is primarily remote with some TDY.

The candidate will work in a small, mission-focused team delivering secure cloud solutions for federal government programs. You will engineer security controls, apply Zero Trust principles, configure IAM, logging, encryption, and network security, evaluate cloud resources for weaknesses, and

Qualifications

• 8+ years in cloud security-related roles.
• Experience implementing security controls in cloud environments.
• Knowledge of cloud identity, networking, logging, encryption, and access control.
• Understanding of Zero Trust security principles.
• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK) certification.
• Certificate of Competence in Zero Trust (CCZT) certification.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the required federal background investigation or security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and maintain security controls within cloud environments.
• Support secure cloud architectures and configurations.
• Apply cloud security and Zero Trust principles to solutions.
• Configure identity, access, logging, encryption, and network security controls.
• Evaluate cloud resources for security weaknesses and misconfigurations.
• Support cloud vulnerability management and remediation.
• Develop and maintain secure configuration standards and technical documentation.
