Job summary

Virta Health is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to strengthen our security program and embed security across the development lifecycle. You will secure Virta's applications and platform, collaborating across teams to ensure security is integral to our processes in a cloud-native, Kubernetes-based environment.

You will drive secure development practices, refine IAM and access controls, and build automated tooling for vulnerability detection and compliance.

Qualifications

• Secure cloud-native apps and infrastructure, esp. Kubernetes; GCP experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of networking, IAM, encryption, and OWASP Top 10.
• Excellent communication to influence across teams and technical direction.
• Hands-on security: secure coding, vulnerability management, and security testing (SAST/DAST/IAST).
• Proficiency with IaC tools, esp. Terraform.
• Go and/or Python development experience.
• 5–7+ years at a high-growth startup or similar environment.

Responsibilities

• Secure Virta's applications and platform across teams and lifecycle.
• Improve security design within GCP and Kubernetes; mature security posture.
• Champion secure development with shift-left practices across Engineering, Product, and Platform teams.
• Build and automate security tooling for vulnerability detection, remediation, and compliance.
• Refine IAM roles and access control; strengthen auditing capabilities.
• Enhance network security architecture and cloud controls.
• Develop and communicate practical security policies and standards for engineering teams.
• Drive vulnerability management and incident response preparedness.
• Promote security awareness across the engineering organization.
